7th Dragon III Code: VFD is Coming to North America!

SEGA has been stepping it up when it comes to localizations as of late. Not sure if this is because of their acquiring of ATLUS (who are known for this sort of thing) or if they’re just looking to move some titles state side. Either way, I’m not upset at the prospect of experiencing new-ish franchises. To the contrary, I’m pretty excited for what’s to come…

One of the newer announced titles comes from a series that debuted in 2009. Called 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, this dungeon crawler is all about dragons and a video game company called Nodens Enterprises; apparently after dragons came to the Earth in the year 2100, they decimated the human race, leaving only a few to wage war against the flying beasts by becoming Dragon Hunters. Nodens Enterprises helps in this regard, making sure we’ve got what it takes to fight back.

The game features a deep party system and character customization options. Up to nine party members will join you on your quest, though only three can go out onto the field at a time. So making sure you have the right classes, skills, and items equipped for particular tasks is a must. At least, that’s what I’m getting from what’s been shown. There’s also some base building mechanics and…dating?

7th Dragon III Code: VFD is a self-contained title, so no prior knowledge will be needed to enjoy the story. That said, it would be wise to check back here as we continue to cover this title going forward. With a summer 2016 release window, there will be plenty of info to share before it hits store shelves!
