ATLUS Reveals New Features/Release Date for Daylight!

ATLUS revealed some new information about their upcoming survival horror title, Daylight. Based on what was announced, this game is certainly one to look out for!

One notable update had to do with 3D gaming on the PS4 and PC versions of Daylight. Using RealD technology (what’s used in movie theaters), giving the game world a nice degree of depth. Of course this would require a 3D-enabled TV or monitor to work. That said, it’s pretty cool feature to have.

A really cool feature had to do with Twitch integration on the PS4. Zombie Studios found a way to use Twitch chat to cue in-game events when streaming. For example, someone watching the stream could type the word “meow” into the chat. This would case the game to make a corresponding cat sound, scaring the crap out of the player. The best thing about this feature, outside of being able to mess with your friends, is that its use is regulated to a timer. You can’t just spam different sounds and ruining the experience. Also, Zombie isn’t sharing what words can affect the game; it’s up to the audience to figure them out.

The last thing that ATLUS announced was the new environments. After escaping the hospital, gamers will visit a haunted prison. It’s in this place that players will encounter their first hostile spirits. From there they’ll traverse through a sewer before ending up in the forest.

Just like the rest of the environments, the forest is procedurally generated. The notable landmarks will be randomly placed each time you play. If the places weren’t creepy enough, knowing that nothing stays the same adds a decent amount of tension.

Daylight is shaping up to be that horror game to get. Dropping April 8th, brave gamers will be able pick it up for $14.99 on both the PS4 and PC!
