ATLUS Shows off Persona 4 Arena in Training Video!

ATLUS has teamed up with Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue) to release a new fighter, Persona 4 Arena. Yea…you read that right; they’re taking the popular RPG and turning it into a fighting game for the PS3 and Xbox 360. And you know what…it looks pretty good!

This high-definition, 2D fighter will feature characters from Persona 3 and 4, an interesting fighting system that incorporates elements of Persona’s world, and the great animation Arc is known for. That’s a winning package in my book.

Persona 4 Arena (P4A for short) follows the story of the RPG. Check a brief synopsis:

“It was thought the Midnight Channel had finally gone dark.  However, a disturbing rumor about a late-night TV commercial, said to advertise a new program called P-1 Grand Prix, surfaces. This new show purportedly features high school students engaged in battle with deadly stakes. To get to the bottom of this mystery, the investigation team returns to the world inside the TV…”

So far there is no word on when P4A will be hitting retail. Our only clue is this summer. That’s cool as it gives gamers sometime to learn the ropes via handy training videos coming from ATLUS. Take a look at the first one:
