Bayonetta and Corrin Join Super Smash Bros.!

Looks like Cloud from Final Fantasy VII is going to have some company! Nintendo recently announced two new fighters to join in the chaotic melee that is Super Smash Bros. Bayonetta from the critically acclaimed Boyonetta games is first up…

Bayonetta was the overall top pick in the recent Fighter Ballot, which asked fans to nominate characters they would love to see in the Super Smash Bros. series; she was No.1 in Europe and in the top five in North America. Fans looking to play as her can do so on the 3DS and/or the Wii U for $5.99, or both game versions together for $6.99 in February 2016.

Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates will also be joining in. Players can choose between a male or female version to play as. Corrin has the blood of a dragon in his/her veins, allowing him to transform and pull off individual stylized attacks! Corrin will be going for $4.99, or both game versions together for $5.99.

Along with Cloud, Bayonetta, and Corrin, are new stages. They include Midgar from Final Fantasy VII, and Bayonetta’s Umbra Clock Tower. New outfits for your Mii Fighter are coming as well, including a full costume inspired by Geno from Super Mario RPG. Fans can grab Cloud and the new Midgar stage DLC now with the other stages coming in February.

All the new additions will be the last DLC for Super Smash Bros. The new content brings the total number of characters to 58, stages to 84, costumes to 99, and hats to 97. That’s not all. Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta will also get their own amiibo figures. More information on this will be coming in the future. In the meantime, amiibo figures for current fighters Ryu and Roy, along with a Famicom R.O.B., will launch on March 18th.

Nintendo definitely knows how to go out with a bang; I mean, what other game can you play as Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man, Mega Man, Ryu, Cloud, Bayonetta, and Corrin at any given moment?
