Bethesda Announces Elder Scrolls Online!

Bethesda announced something awesome a few minutes ago. No…no, it’s not another Fallout (although that would be cool too). No, Bethesda announced a new MMO called The Elder Scrolls Online. I’ll give you a minute to let that sink in…

The Elder Scrolls Online is being developed for PC and Mac under the leadership of Matt Firor, industry vet when it comes to online game development.

“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” said Matt Firor, game director ofThe Elder Scrolls Online. “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”

More info will be coming in the exclusive cover story in Game Informer’s June issue (luck dogs). I can’t wait to see what this game has in store. Will it be free-to-play or subscription based? Will it be ported to consoles? Most likely not to the Xbox; Sony has done this in the past though. We’ll have to wait and see. Be sure to check back as we continue to cover this awesome title!
