Firestorm Joins the Cast of Heroes in Injustice 2!

Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios releases a new trailer for Injustice 2. This time, they’re back to focusing on one character – Firestorm!

He seems to be a mash up of Ermac and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat; he floats about, has a teleport and ground based flame attacks, and his ultimate takes foes to the center of the Earth (the closest we’re going to get to hell in this game). He doesn’t seem to use any of his more fantastical abilities, though I’m not sure how NetherRealm would implament his ability to rearrange the atomic structure of…well, anything. Still, he seems like he’ll be a great addition to an already solid roster of heroes and villains.

What’s also interesting is the fact that this isn’t the original Firestorm, Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein (he was two people in one). Instead, we’re getting the second (third?) person to be called that name – the teenager Jason Rusch. I wonder if he’ll have a downloadable skin of the original duo?

Injustice 2 is slated to be released on May 16th. We’ll of course keep you updated as we get closer to launch!
