Carrion Sells Thousands of Copies Post Launch

Carrion is doing really well. Released last week, the game has already sold nearly 200,000 copies. That’s a solid amount for any indie game. Especially one that was made available via the Xbox Game Pass.

There’s been plenty of reports detailing how the Game Pass can help certain developers. That seems to be the case with Phobia Game Studio; the Netflix-for-games like service isn’t hurting normal game sales.

I’d imagine that having as many eyes on your game as possible is a good thing; a lot of people have been posting about Carrion, even before its launch date. And considering it released in the same month as Ghost of Tsushima and Paper Mario: The Origami King, it needed the exposure.

It also helps to be a good game. In our review, we described Carrion as an entertaining experience that combines Metroid inspired gameplay with unique horror elements. The constant buzz surrounding the game means that we weren’t the only ones who enjoyed playing as an amorphous flesh creature.
