Fire Emblem’s Byleth Becomes 80th Smash Character

Nintendo has finally revealed the last DLC fighter featured in Smash’s current Fighters Pass. Fans will be able to play as Byleth come January 28th.

Hailing from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, this renowned mercenary is a range-based fighter. They use multiple weapons – a sword, axe, lance and bow – to batter opponents into submission. Right before sending them flying with a powerful attack.

Mashario Sakurai, the director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, went over Byleth’s move set in the recently aired direct video. He also talked about the new Garreg Mach Monastery stage, 11 new music tracks from the Fire Emblem series, new Mii costumes (including an awesome Cuphead costume) and more.

The biggest news, aside from Byleth’s introduction, was that of Fighters Pass Vol. 2. This new pass will feature six more characters (one more than the previous one). Sakurai made it known that they’ve already been picked and are currently under development. Meaning, don’t @ him on Twitter asking to include your favorite characters.

The second pass will cost $29.99. It’ll come with six fighters, stages, multiple music tracks and an exclusive Mii skin. To hear more about the pass and other details about what was revealed, feel free to check out the Direct Video below. Whatever you do, keep it locked here for more gaming related news.
