Gun Media Releases Physical Versions/Updates Friday the 13th: The Game!

Yesterday was a big day for Gun Media and IllFonic. Besides releasing physical copies of Friday the 13th: The Game (on Friday the 13th!) they also released a patch/update to their hit title. You just knew plenty of people were jumping back online to get their horror movie experience on. Or at the very least talking about the new content!

While gamers who purchase a physical copy of the game will get excusive DLC – like exclusive Blood Jason skin’s and clothing for the Camp Counselors – everyone will be able to unlock the Jason seen in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (the fourth installment of the film series) as well as a new map. Called Jarvis House, this area features iconic locations from The Final Chapter; you can even visit Tommy Jarvis’s bedroom…if, you know…you’re into hanging out in a twelve-year old’s room. He does have the snazzy mask collection though…

A new counselor, Mitch Floyd, from part III is also available. Throw in rain effects, a slew of bug fixes, and the ability to push other players out of the way make this last update a memorable one.

Friday the 13th: The Game is shaping up to be a pretty decent game. I mean, through the rocky launch and subsequent issues, it’s slowly but surely becoming the game (I assume) IllFonic envisioned way back when. In other words, it can only get better from here.

If you haven’t already, feel free to read our review of Friday the 13th: The Game – just note that the game has gotten better since it was written. Outside of that, be sure to follow us as we continue to cover this title!
