Iron Galaxy and Maximum Games Announces Extinction!

E3 2017 will be here before you can say some amusing yet, arbitrary phrase about the gaming industry…

And because this yearly event is just chock full of gaming news, publishers/developers are announcing things early; you know, so their titles aren’t swept up with the next big AAA title. Thing is, some of them are interesting enough to stand out among the hype. Take Iron Galaxy and Maximum Games’ Extinction.

Extinction is a fast-paced action game where gamers must subdue massive ogres and minions that are attacking villages and cities in this new world. Donning the shoes of the last Sentinel – a special group of soldiers who are tasked with this undertaking – they’ll be able to wall run, vault over things and utilize a whip to get to the top of buildings. Once that happens they’ll be able to take it to the large enemies in grand fashion. Check out the announcement trailer to see what I mean:

“As the protagonist tasked with a huge undertaking – both in fighting enormous ogres and saving humans from disaster – each player’s experience will be varied, as the landscapes and battle situations are never identical,” said Derek Neal, Executive Producer at Maximum Games.

Maximum and Iron Galaxy are promising a deep story campaign, interactive environment, and innumerable battle scenarios (offering unique combat situations each time you play) among other things. It seems like it’s something worth keying an eye on. I’m looking forward to seeing some gameplay though.

We’ll have to wait till E3 (I assume) before seeing more. Whatever the case, we’ll be sure to keep you updated!

Extinction will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC in Q1 2018.
