Mortal Kombat X Gets A Release Date!

Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios announced Mortal Kombat X’s release date. Gamers will be able to “Finnish Him” starting next April!

MKX brings the franchise into a new generation. It’ll offer new mechanics, a cinematic presentation, and the most brutal finishers ever. Interesting enough, it’s also be bringing along classic characters, like Sub-Zero (who was killed in the previous title). That said, this is Mortal Kombat we’re talking about; anything goes, including resurrected villains.

Speaking of which, NetherRealm revealed that Goro will be a playable character on launch day to those who pre-order MKX. I’m guessing he isn’t a major part of the story seeing as how he’s a downloaded character. Does this mean that more characters from the franchise’s past will be offered as DLC? I mean, that’s how we got characters like Rain in MK9.

Mortal Kombat X will be available on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC on April 14th, 2015. Be sure to check back here as we continue to cover this highly anticipated fighter!
