New PAYDAY: The Heist Screens!

Our friends at Sony sent over some new screenshots for PSN exclusive title, PAYDAY: The Heist. For those who don’t know, The Heist is one of the titles that were featured in Sony’s million dollar investment plan, where they support the development of exclusive PSN titles from independent developers. The Heist, developed by OverKill Software, is a FPS where gamers team up to pull off heists Kane and Lynch style. The main difference is that gamers aren’t/can’t betray each other, as teamwork is needed in order to survive.

Christopher Sturr, Executive Director of Business Development at SOE, had this to say:
“PAYDAY: The Heist is a premier quality downloadable game designed to deliver a unique spin on the first person shooter genre. As an intense, gritty and unapologetic episodic cooperative shooter, PAYDAY is packed with cocky attitude, epic Hollywood-inspired action and endless replayability.”

What really stands out to me is the fact that the AI has adaptive tactics, which means that each time you play the scenarios will be different. Not only that, but gamers will have to keep tabs on the civilians, guard access points, and break through various security measures before leaving with the loot. If things get hairy, you can share ammo and med kits. Sounds like a fun time. Of course, additional heists, weapons, and equipment DLC are in the works. Be sure to check out this game when it drops later this year!
