Nintendo Reveals Exciting Details About Super Mario Maker 2

Nintendo shared a lot on their latest Direct video presentation. Focused solely on Super Mario Maker 2, it detailed most of the changes coming to the highly anticipated sequel.

Fans of all things Mario are in for a treat. Super Mario Maker 2 will come packed with a plethora of new tools and features. Some of them will provide creative options – like the ability to create slopes, change water levels, and add on/off switches – that weren’t available in the first game. The other features are geared towards providing a fun gameplay experience. For instance, fans will now be able to create courses with a friend. They’ll also be able to compete in races or team up with four other players to cooperatively complete courses online.

“Super Mario Maker 2 puts the power of creating unique Super Mario courses into the hands of the player,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Video game fans of all ages have more tools than ever to help them stretch their imaginations as they make, play and share the Super Mario courses of their dreams.”

The game will also feature a Story Mode that showcases what players can create, new course themes, and the ability to create Super Mario 3D World styled courses. Again, the game is packed with a ton of stuff to do, see and create.

Super Mario Maker 2 will be available for $59.99 on the Switch come June 28th. Alongside it’s release will be a special bundle that includes the game and a twelve-month subscription to Switch Online. It’ll run gamers $69.99 (offering a savings of about ten bucks).
