TinyBuild has released the Alpha 2 of Hello Neighbor, their stealth horror game currently in Early Access. It now features the game’s final artwork, a new tutorial level, and more!

The premise: your neighbor his hiding something horrible in his basement and it’s your job to find out what. Of course, your neighbor isn’t just going to let search his house. If he finds you it’s curtains. Try a different approach next time? The route you used before will be boarded up. Traps will decorate his halls. Basically, he learns from your failed attempts.

What’s interesting about this update is that everything we’ve seen before now has been tossed. They were used only for testing and evaluating the direction for the full game. This isn’t a bad thing mind you. I had a rough go of it when I played the earlier versions; I’m not entirely sure if I was just bad at sneaking around or if the game’s AI was godlike. That said, I did enjoy my time in-game. The colorful, cartoon-like graphics are deceptive in terms of the game’s tone. It’s actually scary at times. When that music hits and you see the neighbor barreling towards you, it’s certainly evokes an “oh $%^#” type of response.

Hello Neighbor is currently available in Early Alpha Access. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on how it’s shaping up!
