Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Telltale Games announced a worldwide distribution agreement for the upcoming Batman- The Telltale Series game and The Walking Dead Season 3. What this means is that one should expect to be able to play these adventure games on…every platform available today!

Honestly, the Telltale games have been released on consoles before – Minecraft: Story Mode, Tales From the Borderlands, and other titles have gotten the retail disk treatment. That said, this is good news for Telltale as they can focus on just delivering interesting content above distribution.

“Telltale has a stellar reputation for delivering quality content based on world-renowned properties and these games make a great addition to our line-up,” said Kevin Kebodeaux, Senior Vice President, Sales, Americas, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.  “We previously worked with Telltale on The Wolf Among Us and now on the recently announced Batman – The Telltale Series, so we are very pleased to expand our partnership with worldwide retail distribution for its upcoming titles.”

What’s really interesting about this deal is the idea of a season pass. Batman’s first episode will land sometime in August while a special “Season Pass Disc” will be released on September 13th. This disk will include the first of five episodes in the season and will grant access to the subsequent four episodes as they become available for download. Season passes aren’t always a good idea, especially for episodic games – though I’m liking Minecraft: Story Mode’s extra episodes. We’ll have to wait and see if they’re worth our time later this year.

Speaking of later this year (namely in the fall), Clementine will make her return in The Walking Dead Season 3. We haven’t heard much from about the game beyond Clem’s involvement with a new character named Javier. More answers are sure to come as we get closer to this year’s close though!
