Tencent Games announced that players can now pre-register for their highly anticipated mobile MOBA, Arena of Valor. This is a pretty big deal, given how big of a title AoV is…

For those that don’t know, Arena of Valor is based on Honor of Kings – or rather, it is Honor of Kings but with a different name and westernized versions of HoK’s characters. It was launched back in 2015 in China and has sense become one of the biggest MOBA/mobile game in the world (it has about 55 million people playing at any given time). So it’s safe to say that AoV will be big once it reaches North America; I’ve spent some time in-game and while it isn’t League of Legions, it is quite good!

What’s really interesting though is that the game is also coming to the Switch. That’s right, AoV will be the Switch’s first Free-to-Play MOBA. That said, there’s no word on when it’ll actually hit Nintendo’s system; the pre-registration is only for iOS and Android devices.

Tencent also announced that they’ve partnered with DC Comics, allowing for certain heroes to be playable in-game. This includes Batman, Van Helsing, Wonder Woman and Superman – so far, I’ve only seen Batman. As you can guess, he’s pretty awesome. Here’s hoping that Arena of Valor will be launching soon (especially on the Switch)!
