SEGA Announces Alien: Isolation!

SEGA and Creative Assembly announced a new Aliens title today. Now wait…before you run screaming into the night, note that this game looks promising!

Called Alien: Isolation, this new game seems to be all about the horror aspects of the franchise; it isn’t focused on action like with previous titles. Gamers will assume the role of Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda as she tries to discover what happened to the Nostromo (the ship from the first film). I’m guessing this takes place between the first and second films.

While on her mission Amanda will be hunted by one xenomorph. Using a motion tracker, and limited items, she’ll need to be careful making her way through the Sevastopol Station. Again, it seems more survival horror than anything else. The trailer below illustrates what I’m talking about:

Alien: Isolation is slated for a late 2014 release on PS4, Xbox One and (I’m assuming) PC. Here’s hoping it’s better than the last major Alien title…
