Spiders Releases GreedFall E3 Trailer

The trailer sees settlers, mercenaries and treasure hunters converging on a mystical island. Rumored to be filled with riches and lost secrets, GreedFall’s protagonist (or player created character) must search for a cure to save their home continent from a devastating disease.

Of course, things don’t go as planned. The island’s settlers aren’t very welcoming, for good reason; some of the invading peoples aren’t there to pursue needed materials or on some valiant quest. A lot of them are just looking to plunder – at least, that’s what we’re getting from the trailer.

Tensions rise as the settlers confront the islands natives and their supernatural guardians. All while the player is pushed and pulled by either side. The story will shift in various ways as it responds to how they reach their objectives. Will they utilize diplomacy? Deceptions? A little of both? Whatever the case, their actions will shape how things play out.

Spiders is known for creating interesting, yet somewhat flawed, experiences. Some are better than others; titles like Mars War Logs and Bound by Flame struggled to live up to their potential. That said, all of them are compelling in scope. Here’s hoping that GreedFall will be one of their better offerings!

GreedFall will be released this September on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
