Square is Bringing Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts to Xbox

Square Enix made sure that their presence was felt during Microsoft’s X019 event. Not only are they releasing classic Final Fantasy games on Xbox, but they’re also bringing older Kingdom Heart titles along as well.

Fans already knew that certain FF games were coming to Xbox. What they didn’t know was that they’d be add to the Xbox Game Pass; a lot of us were surprised when Final Fantasy Brand Manager, Shinji Hashimoto, took to the stage to explain how FF VII, VIII Remastered, IX, X/X-2 HD Remaster and more were coming to the subscription service.

If that wasn’t awesome enough, fans also learned that older Kingdom Hearts games were coming to Xbox*. The noted games/compilations were Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix and Kingdom Heats HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, both of which help fill in the events leading to KH3.

Basically, Xbox players are getting access to games previously reserved for Sony consoles – not unlike the Yakuza series. This is all-around good news.

Fans will be able to play all of the games (listed below) come 2020. We’ll be sure to update you on the exact dates as soon as Square makes the announcements.
