Techland Announces New Title; Hellraid!

Techland, the makers of Dead Island, announced a new title today called Hellraid. Formerly known as Project Hell, it’s being touted as a first person co-op slasher…interesting!

The armies of Hell are on the loose and it’s up to a select few to take the fight to them in this. They’ll utilize melee, range and magical weapons to beat back the monsters of the pit. Dead Island meets Dungeons & Dragons? I’m game!

Hellraid will feature a story driven single player campaign as well as a unique co-operative online mode. Gamers will enjoy RPG elements, an advanced combat mechanics, and the Game Master system. This system makes each game feel different by randomly placing loot, enemies and online challenges.

Though there is only a little information about Hellraid that’s currently available, it does sound interesting. I wonder how it will set itself apart from games like Skyrim (and Techland’s own Dead Island). Hopefully, the multiplayer will be more than a glorified Horde-mode. We’ll have to wait and see; Hellraid is due out later this year on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3!
