Activision Announces Tonk Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2
Activision is at it again. Looking to bring back the Tony Hawk series, they recently announced Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2. This time though, they’ve partnered with Vicarious Visions, the studio that developed the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, to bring fans this iconic remaster bundle.
This isn’t the first time Activision tried to remaster the first game. With Robomodo’s help, they released Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD back in 2012. It didn’t fare well with fans or critics. The same can be said of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 – in our review, we described it as a lackluster addition to the series.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 seems poised to be better though. At least, that’s the vibe we’re getting from the trailer. Vicarious Visions did solid work on the Crash Trilogy. Hopefully, they’ll be able to do the same here.
This Tony Hawk bundle will offer fan-favorite features spanning the entire franchise. That includes the Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater modes, a slew of returning pro skaters (Tony Hawk, Elissa Steamer, Steve Caballero, etc.) and more. There will also be need elements like original online and local multiplayer modes.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be available on September 4th, for $39.99 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC (via the Epic Games Store). A digital deluxe and collector’s edition will offer up extra goodies – like in-game content and a limited-run Birdhouse deck – for $49.99 and $99.99 respectfully. Fans who pre-order any version will gain access to the Warehouse Demo ahead of the game’s official launch.
