Activision Announces Transformers: Devastation!

Activision officially announced the PlatinumGames collaboration that Transformer fans were hoping was true. Transformers: Devastation, a new third-person action brawler featuring the beloved bots is currently being developed!

PlatinumGames is known for their fast paced action titles. So it came as a bit of a shock that they’d be working on a Transformers game, especially one that’s based on the first generation of the bots. After seeing it in action via the teaser below though, I can say that I’m more than excited to check it out.

The game is packed with fan favorites including Prime, Bumblebee, and Grimlock. Gamers will choose from one of five Autobots waging war with the Decepticons in a story inspired by the IDW comic book universe. Legendary voice actors like Peter Cullen and Frank Welker will lend their talents to characters like Megatron and Optimus Prime respectively.Basically it’s the closest we’ll be to getting the classic cartoon in game form; it’s more brawler than grand adventure but I’ll take it!

Transformers: Devastation is expected to arrive later this year on the PS3/4, Xbox 360/One, and PC. We’ll follow its progress and update you accordingly.
