Activision Reveals Call of Duty: Infinite/Modern Warfare!

Activision revealed Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare today. Not only, that but they’ve confirmed all of the rumors surrounding a certain, remastered title…

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the next game from Infinity Ward – the first of which to be created under the new three-year development cycle – that looks to up the cinematic military ante. The story follows the exploits of UNSA (United Nations Space Alliance) as they fend off an assault from the SDF (Settlement Defense Front). Apparently, after the nations of Earth united as the UNSA, they looked to colonizing the rest of the solar system. A new faction emerged from those living on the frontier; I’m not sure if this group is made up of humans living out in space or actual aliens. Their brief appearance in the reveal trailer below has them looking human-like.

Players will assume the role of Captain Reyes, a Tier 1 Special Operations pilot who assumes command of the Retribution, a massive UNSA warship. Acting as a central hub for players between missions (like the secret bases in Black Ops 3), it’s where players will launch story missions and/or raids on enemy ships. Players will also pilot a Jackal in intense zero-g dogfights. Is it me or does this game have an Independence Day vibe?

So far there’s been no word on the multiplayer side of things. Of course, that’s to be expected; Activision will reveal the new ins and outs of this mode(s) at a later time. The same thing goes for the “all-new” take on the popular Zombies mode. They did confirm the remastered version of what’s arguably the best CoD ever, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare though. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will feature the original campaign and multiplayer modes as well as 10 fan-favorite multiplayer maps. The exciting part is that it’ll be bundled with select versions of Infinite Warfare!

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide on November 4th. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will also be available as part of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy and Digital Deluxe Editions – retailing for $79.99. Be sure to check back here as we continue to cover these two titles. And don’t forget to check out the reveal trailer below:
