Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Gets a Release Date!

Activision and Treyarch officially revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 today. Be releasing its first gameplay trailer, gamers get to finally see what all the hype is about…

Black Ops 3 takes place in a twisted dark future; about thirty five years after the events of BLOPS II, based on the trailer. Advancements in bio-technology has the world split on its use. The idea of humans become less and less…well, human seems to be a main thread. Of course, there are those out there looking to use these advancements for nefarious reasons. Enter our cybernetically enhanced Black Ops soldiers. Men and Women who’ve become faster, stronger, and smarter on the battlefield are here to keep us safe.

Don’t worry as you won’t be saving the world alone. Apparently up to four players can cooperatively tackle the campaign this time around. Speaking of multiplayer, Treyarch also shared some information about the competitive side of things. A new momentum-based, chained-movement system that allows players to move fluidly through environments (all while maintain complete control over their weapons) has been added; I believe this was shown in the trailer when the player dived in the water. There’s a new Specialist system where players can rank up nine elite soldiers with their own weapons, abilities, and personalities. Though I haven’t seen it in action, it sounds similar to what was offered in Ghosts. Of course, there’s a new customization system, a new Zombies experience, and more coming in later announcements.

Activision lastly announced that the game will be released on November 6th*. That’s on a Friday! That means we won’t have people calling out of work in order to shoot each other online. What’s more interesting to note though is that the game has only been announced for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Was Advanced Warfare the last last gen Call of Duty? Only time will tell.
