Captivate with Capcom!

Capcom is at it again! It seems as if Capcom and Bethesda are competing for the “most announcements a year” trophy*. Capcom has finally revealed a title that has been under wraps (and rumored about) at their annual media showcase event, Captivate, which took place in Miami last week. Called Dragon’s Dogma, this title is set in a free roaming world where players must use tactical teamwork to survive encounters with the games enemies.

It reminds me of Dragon Age in that you use a team of heroes and engage in tactical battles. Which isn’t a bad thing. Dragon Age will sport a new enhanced version of Capcom’s MT Framework engine (used in titles like Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2). Be sure to check this game out sometime in 2012.Check out these screens:

Capcom also announced Dead Rising 2: Off The Record. This is Dead Rising 2 told as if Frank West, protagonist from the first game, was the main character. Frank will bring new missions, enemies, combo-weapons, new places to explore, and enhancements to the gameplay to the table. I don’t know how I feel about a retelling of a popular title. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime be sure to check out the trailer on our youtube page!

Last but not least, Capcom showed off trailers for their upcoming title, Street Fighter X Tekken. From the looks of things, this is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated fighting games…period. Of course, that’s until Namco shows us their title, Tekken X Street Fighter!

*There is no such trophy
