Crytek Releases the Hunt: Showdown E3 Footage!

Crytek recently released their E3 footage of the upcoming PvP title, Hunt: Showdown. Showcasing what it’s like to hunt down a monster in an effort steal a bounty from rival players, the video (and game itself) is rather interesting.

Creative director Magnus Larbrant and level design director Chris Auty team up to track down a monstrous spider. With four other teams of two after the same bounty, they had their work cut out for them – that’s not even including the random beasts lurking about the dark Louisiana swamp.

If Hunt: Showdown seems familiar, it’s because it was once named Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age. It was supposed to be something akin to Left 4 Dead and Evolve. Things have apparently changed; possibly for the better, with the game leaning towards something more unique. Players can use, what looks like monster blood, to see through the eyes of their prey. Once they take down the spider, they’ll have to banish it and then take it’s remains out of the swamp as proof (in order to collect the bounty).

There’s been no word on a launch date. We’ll of course keep you updated, sharing any news about the Hunt: Showdown as we get it!
