EA Announces Need for Speed Heat, Reveals Launch Date

EA and Ghost Games announced a new Need for Speed today. Called Need for Speed Heat, this new installment is poised to be the ultimate street racer versus cop fantasy…

At least, that’s what Ghost Games want’s us to believe. Offering a new open world environment – the game takes place in Palm City, Florida – and interesting modes of play, Heat allows gamers can lead a “double life”. During the day, they’ll compete in the Speedhunters Showdown, a sanctioned competition. At night, they’ll take part in underground races.

While both set of races offer their own rewards, the underground events are the game’s risky endeavors; the last thing a racer wants is to be caught by a rogue police task force and stripped of their earnings.

Ghost Games is promising more than just high-speed chases though. That includes the different game modes, an interesting environment to race in, and more customization options.

“We’re delivering more options than ever before for players to be unique and make themselves known,” said Riley Cooper, Creative Director at Ghost Games. “Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customization, and more challenges, and we’re tuning up on every aspect. From your character’s style to your car’s performance and your driving style, we’re fuelling everyone’s creativity with this new game.”

Need for Speed Heat launches on November 8th for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Be sure to check back here as we continue to follow this title!
