Elastic Games Reveals Last Year: Afterdark
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Elastic Games. At least, not concerning their horror game, Last Year: The Nightmare.
Outside of a few tweets (and the chats found on Discord), the studio seemingly went quiet. This led to speculation as fans feared the worse. Was the game dead? Is it still coming to Steam? What’s going on? Well, today Elastic had something to say. Or rather, show…
First came a new gameplay trailer. It featured a new killer – a giant spider of sorts – some new and returning faces. It also showcased a new emphasis on combat; the survivors are utilizing dealer weapons this time around.
There’s also the name change. No more the Nightmare, now it’s Last Year: Afterdark. This of course, adds more questions. Are fans getting a new mode or a totally revamped game? We’ll have to wait and see.
What we can say is that fans won’t have to worry about Last Year coming to Steam. Not only will it land on Steam on December10th (nearly a year after launching on Discord), those who purchased the game via the now defunct store, will also got a Steam key.
If you bought on Discord, you are getting a free Steam key. More info on Discord channel:

I’m glad Last Year is still kicking. It featured some great ideas while providing a solid gameplay loop. Aside from a few issues and being stuck on Discord, it proved to be one of the better asymmetrical horror games around.
