Fortnite Launches its “High Stakes” Event!

That’s right! Fortnite’s High Stakes event has begun. Featuring the new Getaway mode, challenges and rewards, fans now have more reasons to shoot each other.

The limited-timed mode (or LTM) Getaway, tasks gamers with stealing large jewels from four different safes. They won’t have to rob a bank or anything; the safes are loaded into supply drops scattered around the island. The goal is to locate a safe, steal the jewel and escape via a getaway van. The first four teams to do will win. Good times!

Of course, there are unlocks to be earned. They are as follows:

• Play 10 matches of The Getaway LTM – Get 5,000 XP
• Deal 500 damage to Jewel carrying opponents – Unlock the Suited Up Spray
• Pick up a Jewel in 5 different matches of The Getaway LTM – Unlock the Cash Flow Contrail
• Complete all 3 Challenges – Unlock the Crowbar Pickaxe

There’s also a purchasable Wildcard skin (seen in the trailer), complete with interchangeable masks. The skin and other items will only be available during the length of the event so be sure to jump into Fortnite soon to collect.
