Friday the 13th Hits 1.8M Sold/Heads to Retail!

Illfonic and Gun Media revealed today that Friday the 13th: The Game has sold pretty well since launching back in May. This is good news considering how rocky its launch was…

“It’s been a long two months from our team here at Gun and IllFonic,” says Wes Keltner, Gun Media studio head. “We have had an incredibly supportive and dedicated community since we launched, and while things haven’t been completely smooth we definitely feel confident moving forward. The team has grown and we are committed as we work to add more content, more kills, more to do and of course the single player component to the game.”

Friday the 13th: The Game has sold over 1.8 million units across the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Looking to increase their sales, Gun Media is releasing a physical retail version of the game. Appropriately launching this October 13th, this version will feature an exclusive free Bloody Jason skin variant for all playable Jason versions in the game as well as a free clothing pack for all camp counselors. Sounds good.

Releasing physical copies is a good idea. Personally though, I’m looking forward to the single player content that was promised. Will it release alongside this version of the game? Who knows…well, besides Gun and Illfonic.
