Gun and Bloober Partner for Layers of Fear 2

Gun Media and Bloober Team recently announced Layers of Fear 2. What’s interesting about this news, beyond the new game, is the partnership between these two companies. Bloober Team has been killing it in the survival horror genre. Both Layers of Fear and Observer were hits; they didn’t set a new standard like say an Amnesia, but they were well received. Gun Media helped developed and published Friday the 13th: The Game, which (despite a lengthy and rough launch period) was a decent asymmetrical horror title. Basically, I’m interested in what these two companies can come up with when they put their collective heads together.

The fact that the announcement trailer reveals that the main character is somehow titled to classic films (as opposed to being a painter like before) is intriguing. Learning that Tony Todd is lending his voice to the game elevates that to excitement!

“Revealing Layers of Fear 2 alongside the horror aficionados at Gun Media is an unprecedented moment. This partnership secures a passion for horror not yet seen on the market and puts a seal of quality on the game, to which no horror fan should remain indifferent.” Piotr Babieno, CEO, Bloober Team.

Layers of Fear 2 is set for a 2019 release. There’s no word on which platforms it’ll be on, though one can assume it’ll eventually land on all of the current ones. Whatever the case, be sure to check back here as we continue to follow this title!
