HeroCrate is Here and It’s Awesome!

Update: Remember when we posted news of Operation Supply Drop supporting veteran-owned business? Well, it seems that HeroCrate was the first of these businesses that OSD partnering with!

Monthly “crates” seems to be all the rage nowadays. Loot Crate, Nerd Box, Gizmo Crate – these monthly services provide consumers with boxes of loot, curated by each company based on their current themes. Loot Crate, for example, released a bunch of zombie themed loot (comics, t-shits, etc.) for Halloween. One crate I’d like to talk about though, happens to be one of the newest on the market. I’m talking about the awesome HeroCrate!

After returning from combat duty in Iraq, U.S. Army infantry veteran Jacob McShea struggled to adjust to civilian life. To help in his effort to keep busy (at least at first), Jacob and his brother Zachary launch HeroCrate – a new mystery box themed around beloved heroes from comics, television, movies, pop culture and most importantly, video games –  back in June. Desite being the new box on the block, they sold out of their first two crates centered on The Hulk and Batman.

“My brother and I came up with the idea and wanted to do something different. We wanted to focus an entire box on one character rather than a general theme for each month,” said Jacob McShea, Founder and CEO of HeroCrate. “We have always been drawn to hero characters and wanted something to highlight our favorites while encouraging our community with the message that we ALL have the potential to be heroes. Using our motto ‘Defend Your Inner Hero,’ we moved forward on the idea and took to social media to build awareness. The results and positive response have been humbling.”

I’m actually really peeved I wasn’t able to get The Hulk HeroCrate. Moving passed the pain of missing out, hero fans should know that HeroCrate is sold for a flat $29.99 with free two-day shipping and includes 4-6 pieces of merchandise. It’s also the only crate to guarantee a T-shirt with every package. Hopefully, for me, they come in X-Large!

Each month , one lucky buyer will receive a “golden ticket” that wins them the Super HeroCrate, housing contents valued over $400. Companies like ThinkGeek, Operation Supply Drop, and NVIDIA teamed up with HeroCrate to offer some cool items in the most recent super bundle.

HeroCrate is certainly right up my alley. Now if we could just get one Mario themed crate…
