Konami Announces Price Drop on Ground Zeroes!

Konami today announced new details regarding the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. One of which should come as no surprise…

Getting to the major announcement first, Konami has decided to drop the price of MGSV:GZ on the Xbox One and PS4. Instead of paying $29.99 and $39.99 for the digital and physical versions respectively, gamers will now pay a flat $30. Not surprising – the pricing model came under fire when it was revealed that the game feature roughly two hours of gameplay (not including all the side missions). The last thing they want if for gamers thinking that they are paying for a glorified demo. The price for the last gen versions are till priced the same: $29.99 for the retail version and $19.99 for the digital download.

Konami also announced that those who purchase Ground Zeroes early on will unlock exclusive content within The Phantom Pain. This DLC will only be available in the first batch of retail copies and for a limited time period for its digital counterpart. The last thing revealed was the inclusion of a Ground Zeroes app that allows in-game communication and displaying of the world map. Users can also call in air support or play any of the cassette tapes found throughout Camp Omega. This app, called the iDROID, will be available on iOS, Android, and other smart devices for free.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will launch nationwide and online March 18th. We’ll continue to update you on this title in the meantime.
