Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Update Announced!

Capcom announced today that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U will receive a software update a month after release. This update will offer online cross-region and off-TV play. Hopefully, the update won’t take forever to download…

Aside from the time spent on downloading the update, it sounds like a good idea. Being able to play with European gamers will help bolster the online community; the MH titles aren’t as big as they should be in North America. Also, being able to play the game on the Wii U GamePad is nice.

I hope an update will come to the Nintendo 3DS version. As it stands, gamers will only be able to enjoy local multiplayer play (no online feature). Capcom say’s that they’ll continue to support both titles for several months after release as well as listen to community feedback. This gives me hope of such an update.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate releases on March 19th for both Wii U and the 3DS. Be sure to check back as we continue to follow this title!
