New Double Dragon Title Announced!

Majesco Entertainment Company announced a new Double Dragon title recently. Called Double Dragon: Neon, this title will be released as a full-scale digital game over Xbox Live and PSN. Now I know what you’re thinking, there has been a lot of DD remakes that have…well…sucked. That’s why I’m happy that this game is being developed by WayForward (Aliens Infestation, Contra 4, A Boy and his Blob)!

“Double Dragon: Neon is far from a standard retro remake,” said Sean Velasco, Director, WayForward. “It’s WayForward’s love letter to the decade that spawned the franchise – the music, the style, and culture of the 80’s pulse through the nucleus of Double Dragon: Neon. But don’t think this is a simple graphical facelift; with our innovative ‘mix tape’ level up system and power-up high-fives, we pushed it to the limit!”

DD: Neon will take place in a omniverse, were gamers will need to beat up baddies across earth and beyond. It seems that the Black Dragon Clan has a new leader named Skullmageddon who is need of a good spinning kick to the face. Using drop-in, drop-out online co-op, gamers will be able to do so with friends this summer. Or, if you’re attending PAX East this year, you can check out a playable demo at the Reverb Booth (808). Awesome!

Be sure to check back as we continue to cover this beat’em up reboot!
