New NBA 2K16/NHL 16 Cover Picks!

Listen up sports fans because we’ve got more cover announcements to share. Not only did 2K announce another cover for their NBA 2K16 title, but we also got EA’s NHL 16 cover picks!

2K Sports recently announced that NBA 2K16 will feature Michael Jordan on the cover of this year’s Special Edition version of the game. It’ll come with physical items (like a Jordan poster) as well as digital items (including Jordan’s jersey and shoes) for your MyPLAYER character. What’s really interesting though is that those who pre-order this edition will be able to play the game four days before the launch date.

The NBA 2K16 Michael Jordan Special Edition will be available for $79.99 on the PS4 and Xbox One on September 29th. The standard edition will be released on last and current gen consoles as well as PC that same day.

Moving over to the NHL, EA revealed today that there will be two athletes on this year’s cover. Stanley Cup Champions Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane from the Chicago Blackhawks will both don the cover together, a first in franchise history.

“I’m honored to not only share the Stanley Cup Championship with Patrick, but to share the EA SPORTS NHL 16 cover with him too,” said Toews. “Our team’s passion and dedication have made this all possible – and I’m sure fans will be fired up about it.”

“Being teamed up with Jonathan for the NHL 16 cover is a great feeling,” said Kane. “I never would have imagined being on the cover twice, and the fact this is happening on top of our team taking home the Cup is unreal.”

NHL 16 will be released on September 15th (17th in Europe) on the Xbox One and PS4.
