Nintendo Reveals Pokemon Sword/Shield

Nintendo’s latest Direct revealed a new pairing of Pokemon titles. Dubbed Pokemon Sword and Shield, these two are a return to form for the series!

The 8th generation of Pokemon is here. Coming to the Switch this fall, players will be exploring an all new region called Galar in their pursuit of “catching em all”. Three new starter Pokemon – Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble – will help in this regard.

Nintendo didn’t share that much about Sword and Shield outside of the series’ normal trappings. This put a slight damper on things; while it’s nice to have a mainline Pokemon game on the Switch, it would be cool if there were some new gameplay mechanics to get excited about. That’s to say that Sword and Shield aren’t highly anticipated titles of course.
