RiME Gets New Publishers!

Tequila Works is pushing ahead their upcoming puzzle adventure game RiME. Years in the making, the developer recently announced that Grey Box and Six Foot have teamed up to publish the game. I’m guessing that means it’s no longer a PS4 exclusive…

After reacquiring the rights for RiME from Sony, there was little news about the game’s state.  People were wondering if it just delayed, canceled, or moved to another console. Thankfully, the game is currently scheduled for a 2017 release. As for it being an exclusive, the press release states that the “platformer will debut on gaming platforms”.

That could mean it’s still headed to the PS4 but also to the Xbox One and Steam; you wouldn’t necessarily need two publishers for one platform if one of them was capable of releasing digital and physical copies. “From its very first moving reveal, RiME has been a game that has excited and fascinated our team,” said Christian Svensson, COO of Six Foot. “Tequila Works has put an immense amount of passion and creativity into shaping a beautiful and deeply personal universe, and we’re all excited to share that experience with gamers next year.”

RiME is certainly on our radar. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as things progress.
