Ronimo Addresses Awesomenaut Fans; Sneaker Giveaway!
Ronimo Games address their fans yesterday about updates coming to Awesomenauts. There are going to be more changes leading to more balanced gameplay as well as fixing the connectivity issues.
One update has to do with Voltars’ drones. Apparently they are too effective at tanking turrets and their max damage output is too high. Personally, I thought this was great seeing as how Voltar sucks at offensive maneuvers (he is mainly for support). Ronimo will be reducing the drone bass health and replacing the “force field” item with an item that makes the drone shots blind enemies. Interesting. They are also going to allow the drones to explode upon death, dealing a decent amount of damage. Of course, this means there will be an item that improves their explosive power. Very interesting!
A pervious announcement:
Upgrading Leons tongue ability, while sacrificing your melee damage, will now be a relevant strategic option. We’ve also replaced the Power Pills Turbo items with an item that increases your health by a small amount for free, once. This will be a useful tool for players who want some extra early-game power at the cost of more late-game oriented items. Lonestar’s bull will get an item that makes it explode on death, dealing some hefty aoe damage. This item will replace the bull speed upgrade. – Press
I believe there are other changes coming to Awesomenauts as well. No word on a release date for the patch; the connectivity issues are tougher to fix then they thought. You will know when the patch goes active though. One clue will be that your NAT type will be displayed on the game session setup screen. While Ronimo has improved the connectivity for players using Moderate and Strict NAT settings, you’ll be able to see what your type is before jumping online.
