Rovio Celebrates Angry Birds’10 Year Anniversary

Rovio Entertainment celebrated 10 years of Angry Birds yesterday. First released on the App Store back in 2009, their popular game has grown into a multimillion-dollar franchise.

Angry Birds as a whole is doing well and I don’t just mean in the mobile space. Though, with 4.5 billion downloads, it’s certainly doing fine there. With Over 1.8 billion Angry Bird consumer products sold, two animated films, and their own anger-powered scooters – last month, Rovio unveiled the Rage Riders as a means of transforming anger into something useful – the franchise continues to make waves.

Kati Levoranta, Rovio CEO, stated that “Angry Birds has grown into a phenomenon that has reached beyond anyone’s expectations”. And it’s true. The recently announced K-Swiss x Angry Birds limited-edition footwear is proof that the birds are here to stay.
