SEGA Details Alien: Isolation’s Survival Mode!
SEGA and Twentieth Century Fox announced that Alien: Isolation is getting a Survivor Mode. Odd, I thought the whole game was about survival…
Survivor Mode will be a series of five challenging add-on packs. Each pack will feature three different maps for players to play on; with limited resources, players will need to complete a unique set of objectives to escape.
“At this year’s E3 and a number of subsequent events, we put the Survivor Mode demo into the hands of the world’s press and consumers and the reception was incredible,” said Al Hope, Creative Lead on Alien: Isolation. “This is the game in its purest form; it’s you against the creature and it’s against the clock. It was just fantastic watching players leave the demo with a strange mix of joy, terror and relief at simply surviving, before jumping back in and try to tackle it in a different way to beat their time!”
The game will ship with a Survivor Mode demo featuring one playable map called Basement. On October 28th, the first of the five add-on packs will be available for purchase. Apparently, the packs will offer more than just a few maps as gamers will unlock new playable characters, enemies, and other game modes. Those looking to buy every pack can do so individually or via the Season Pass (offering a 25% discount). There seems to be a lot of “extra” content coming our way. Hopefully, it will all be worthwhile for Alien fans.
Alien: Isolation will launch on October 7th for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and PC. Be sure to check back here as we continue to cover this title!
