Sloclap Announces Absolver: Downfall

Sloclap recently announced that a free update/expansion is headed to Absolver. Named Absolver: Downfall, this expansion will offer three major additions – one being a new environment!

Absolver fans will face challenging foes in the new Adalian Mines. This procedurally sequenced mine and temple environment will feature upgraded enemies and multiple boss fights; apparently these will be some of the toughest bosses in the entire game, suggesting that a cooperative approach may be the key to success. This is good news for those of us who enjoyed the PvE content more than Absolver’s competitive offerings.

The second addition is the new Faejin combat style. Blending defense and offense with percussive strikes, this new style isn’t for novice players. It offers two dozen attacks for bare hands, wargloves, and armed combat (swords and such).

The last addition is also tailored for experienced players. Everyone who’s reached the Disciple rank in a school can participate in school challenges/1v1 combat trials. Individual and collective wins will result in new rewards for that school’s disciples every three weeks. It’s basically a new ranked option that leans on the PvE side of things. Good times!

The expansion will of course, also include new sets of gear, emotes, and new PvP intros. Absolver: Downfall will be available on the PS4 and PC on September 25th. If you haven’t already, feel free to read out review of the base game (linked below) – just know that the game has changed for the better since then!

I don’t think Absolver is a bad game. I just imagined more. And honestly, it seems like Sloclap did too.
