SoulCalibur VI Producer “Battles” Miles Chamley-Watson

SoulCalibur VI is launching soon. Because of this, fans of the popular fighting series are looking to digest as much information about the upcoming game as possible. I don’t think anyone was expecting Bandai to release a video showcasing real-life sword play though…

Motohiro Okubo, SoulCalibur VI Producer, set out to meet the world-renowned fencer and Team USA Olympic Bronze Medalist, Miles Chamley-Watson. The idea was to explore how real-life sword fighting compares to the over-the-top brawls found in the game. Check out the video below to see how things turned out. Spoiler: Okubo “battles” Chamley-Watson.

It’s interesting to know that some of the characters, particularly Raphael who’s a fencer in the game, use real moves. The fighting isn’t all make believe/exaggerated movements. Those are fun too – who doesn’t like juggling their opponents through the air using a giant sword – but seeing realistic attacks also help to sell the fights.

SoulCalibur VI will be available on October 19th for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Be sure to check back here as we continue to cover this title!
