Square Releases FFVII Remake Trailer!
Square Enix showed off gameplay footage of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake. It’s…not what I expected…
The new trailer shows the first CG scenes as well as gameplay. Gone are the turn based battles of yore. In their place are the more free form fighting we’ve come to expect for recent FF titles. To be blunt, it looks awesome; an all new way of experiencing what’s arguably one of the best RPGs ever. Don’t believe me, take a look for yourself:
What wasn’t shown in the trailer is the fact that the remake will be an episodic game. At least that’s the vide we got from Square’s press release. In the first paragraph we saw, “FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE will be told across a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience.” This is interesting. How will this work in terms of leveling up? There would need to be a cap for each entry right? What about loot – would what you can find be limited to the current episode? Is it even episodes or multiple games (FFXV was once a side game for the Lightning saga)?
Like always, we’ll have to wait for future announcements from Square. Hopefully, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be as great as the above trailer makes it look.
