Supermassive Releases The Man of Medan Dev Diary #2 – PART 1

Supermassive Games released the first part of the second series of The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan Dev Diaries. Embedded below, the video showcases the art of creating motion and sound manipulation to immerse players in the game’s world.

This entry is called “A Watery Grave”. In it, the developers talk about recording sounds of a boat traveling/crashing against waves and creating realistic character animations – both of which help to establish a sense of believability. Basically, they’re making the in-game events feel like they are really happening in an effort to freak players out.

The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan (the first installment of The Dark Pictures Anthology series) is currently slated for a summer 2019 release. We’ll be sure to share more info about this creepy title as things progress.
