Terraria Meets Edge of Space at PAX!
HandyMan Studios and Re-Logic announced a developer crossover event today. Content from Re-Logic’s critically acclaimed title Terraria will be coming to HandyMan’s Edge of Space!
This kind of makes sense when you think about it. Though both games are different in their own ways, they share a lot of similarities. Both feature randomly generated sandbox survival-adventure game elements, crazy monsters, mining and crafting – basically the mechanics that make titles like Terraria popular. PAX Prime attendees will be able to get hands-on time with Edge of Space, playing through this new content. There is even a battle against Omegatron, the sci-fi cybernetically enhanced version of Skeletron from Terraria. Check out the crossover trailer for a closer look:
“I’m really digging the potential of Edge of Space,” said Andrew “Redigit” Spinks, the creator of Terraria. “If you’re a fan of my game, then there is a good chance you’re really going to love the insane monsters, wild weapons, and flexible creation content of Edge of Space. They are a great group of passionate developers and I am glad to get to know them, and it could turn out to be one of the best sci-fi games in the genre.”
This crossover event with Terraria is great for gamers. I just hope the content stays in the game and isn’t a PAX only thing. That said, Edge of Space looks like it’s going to be great; it has genetically enhanced space polar bears for crying out loud. It’s currently in Early Access on Steam for $11.99 (the launch price will be $14.99). Buying the game early will net you the First Responder Armor to help in early exploration.
