Ubisoft Reveals Hyper Scape

Ubisoft recently announced its first battle royale game. Called Hyper Scape, this free-to-play first person shooter seems to offer something unique.

Hyper Scape takes place inside Neo-Arcadia, a virtual city featuring several open and enclosed areas. It’s a place where vertical movement leads to rooftop shootouts and alleyways turn into deadly choke points. Essentially, Neo-Arcadia looks like a place worth battling in.

Three-player squads and solo players can dive into a given match. From there, it’s all about fast paced combat as an artificial barrier pushes everyone towards a central location. In Hyper Scape’s case, it’s the virtual decay; the city will slowly dissolve, killing everyone unlucky enough to be in those locations.

The base gameplay should be familiar. Ubisoft added their own flavor though. Players will be able to hack the world, gaining offensive and defensive capabilities. They’ll also be able to hack their weapons, improving them via fusion – pick up the same gun more than once and you’ll upgrade the weapon.

Hyper Scape seems like a fun game. Will it be able to complete with the Fortnites and Apex Legends out there? Its current technical test has certainly been entertaining to watch. That said, we’ll have to wait and see how things shape up.

Hyper Scape is scheduled to be released on consoles and PC. There’s no word on an official release date. Feel free to check back here for more information.
