WayForward to Make a Hotel Transylvania Game

GameMill Entertainment, an independent video game publisher, announced today its plans to release Hotel Transylvania for Nintendo DS and 3DS. Based on the Sony Pictures Animation’s upcoming animated movie of the same name, this licensed title will be developed by WayForward. Ok, now I’m interested!

WayForward (Aliens: Infestation, Double Dragon Neon) does a great job making licensed titles. So, I’m sure it will be a good game. With that said I’m not sure what type of game it will be. The movie is about a Dracula’s daughter is Mavis, who is turning 118. She is a “teen” who wants to explore her surroundings, mainly when it comes to humans. Dracula hasn’t had the best luck with the human race, and instead wants his daughter to stay at the hotel with all sorts of other monsters. Unfortunately for him, a random human checks in at his hotel. Cue the rest of the film.

The story doesn’t lend itself to an adventure game. GameMill does mention that there will be puzzles and boss battles galore. So, I’m guessing there will be some sort of conflict outside of what’s been presented in the film’s trailers. Hotel Transylvania will be released sometime in September (the movie comes out on September 28th). Be sure to check back with us as we continue to follow this title!
