Borderlands is Coming to Xbox One/PS4 This March!
2K and Gearbox Software revealed today that they’re bringing the Borderlands series to current-gen consoles via The Handsome Collection.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection includes both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel along with all of the DLC previously released for each game for only $59.99. What’s great about this, beyond the HD upgrade, is that gamers can move their saved files to the current gen consoles. Similar to GTA V, you’ll be able to continue your quest to max out your characters without having to start over*.
“The Handsome Collection gives players the opportunity to experience the full arc of Handsome Jack’s rise and fall, from his not-so-humble beginnings on Elpis to becoming the tyrannical Hyperion CEO on Pandora, all in one value-packed bundle,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “This collection marks the Borderlands franchise’s official move to the next-gen platforms, and we’re proud to offer our fans the ability to continue playing with the characters they’ve built as they carry on adventuring in The Handsome Collection.”
2K went on to announce a very limited collector’s edition – Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition, to be exact. It comes with the games, a remote controlled Claptrap steward robot, a collectible steel case, and 12 exclusive lithographs. The Claptrap robot is controlled via a smartphone app, can move in all directions and spout lines using his signature voice. He can even live stream video to a mobile device through his eye. Awesome!
The collector’s edition is limited to 5,000 units and is available for pre-order for $399. Both editions will be released on March 24th (internationally on the 27th) on the PS4 and Xbox One. Be sure to check back here as we continue to cover these games.
*Cross-save functionality must be between same console family. e.g., Xbox 360 to Xbox One or PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.PS Vita owners can also move their files to the PS4!
