Ex-People Can Fly Vets Make New Studio and Game!

The Astronauts announced their first game today. Who are they you ask? Just a team made up of former People Can Fly (Bulletstorm) veterans. The game they are working on is a weird, fiction horror title. Basically, this is something you should be aware of!

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, the name of their new title, was inspired by weird fiction stories and other tales of macabre of the early 20th century. Sounds interesting on paper; the press release that was sent out said that the game should be played at night, alone, while using headphones. Gamers will take on the role of a detective with the ability to visualize scenes of lethal crimes. He’s tasked with saving a young boy whom was recently kidnapped and solving the mystery that’s tied to a trail of corpses.

“What we care about the most is that the players feel like they’re really there. Immersion is our number one priority,” said the game’s designer, Adrian Chmielarz. “It’s a game about exploration and discovery. We’re not abandoning the gameplay – on the contrary: we’re trying to strip it down to the bone and make sure it’s always meaningful and truly makes the experience better.”

No word on wether it’s going to be a FPS, Third Person, etc. Will it be more Heavy Rain or more The Walking Dead (there is a kid involved after all)? Only time will tell. In the meantime, check out the teaser below:

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is set for a release on PC something this year. Be sure to check back as we continue to cover this interesting title!
